Lee Sin, very strong tanky dps that can deal massive dmg and with the slow is extremely useful.

I would say Yorick is definitely one of the hardest to lane against, though people still think he's useless out of laning phase. Nasus with the right set up can't be moved from lane, though he won't be able to push other out of lane for the early levels.

All the others mentioned already all have their strengths and weaknesses.

As a side note, Teemo is a pretty strong counter pick for most tanky DPS solo tops.

I play Yorick in Dominion (Which pretty much lets you build whatever & doesn't really have a laning phase in the traditional sense) and I can wreck people (I can remove almost 25% of a squishy characters health with my Q once I grab sheen), it's just a matter of getting the right build.

I'm surprised not to see a Malphite on the list... especially after this.

Nasus is IMO the strongest of all the above mentioned. The common tanky dps build works way better on him than the others, and on a solo lane he can build up enough damage to make up for any steroids other champs may have, with his (theoretically) limitless potential to keep building up damage regardless of his itemization.

Amazing sustain passive, one of the best Qs in the game, good farm, decent harass and can pretty much fill on any role at hand for an AD champ, there lies his power.

This. Everything depends on the current game and its state. I'd also add Vayne for example next to Teemo.

Personally I find Jarvan, Yorick, Trynd (Until Nerfs), RIven, and Shyv to be the top 5 most devastating.
Beware the war cry of the Berserker. What surges toward you is unyielding, free from the shackles of reason.

Shyv is iffy top. She does well in certain matchups, but Yorick for example rapes her in my experience.

Udyr Gankplank or Tryndamere. Those 3 are like jokers, they are the best tops currently.

Other than that, Ryze does pretty good and all ranged heroes.

J4 and Trynd. J4 just takes a bit of effort to play as a tanky DPS in comparison to Gangplank, but with a proper build, the amount of damage, debuffs, buffs, and disruption he can do easily sets him on the top of the mountain. He's just forgotten about after some hard times.

Not really tanky DPS, he had 2 Doran Rings and probably some AP runes vs. less than 50% HP Xerath who had his ass kicked around mid all day by 6/0 Karthus. SK also put a squishy little bird who needs all her spells to combo vs. a tanky mage.

IMO, Shyvana (Jungle), Riven, Yorick (REALLY HARD TO LANE AGAINST + Ulti way good, especially with Cait or Vayne), Trundle, Nasus

Shyvana has an amazing lategame, Riven is awesome top if they don't have really good sustain, Yorick is nearly impossible to lane comfortably against, Trundle is an awesome jungler + debuffer + has good ganks/etc., and Nasus is sooper tanky + does tons of damage + Wither is a real bitch.

Eh, I'd say Irelia. I agree with Morello's point that her kit has way too bloody much in it.

She's pretty easy to shut down in the lane IMO, which really holds her back now that they nerfed her pre-11 sustain. It makes it harder for her to snowball out of control (but she still will with her full build).

Just saying, why has nobody mentioned Olaf?

After he gets his wriggles, he has amazing sustain, and if he is smart with his mana, can stay in his lane forever. Not to mention his ultimate, which shuts down stunners like rene and irelia, along with countering nasus.

If built Atmogs, he is extremely tanky, while dealing tons of damage. His true damage along with his lifesteal skill, help him win trades in the early game lane, and the enemy is forced to play passive or risks getting zoned out.
