Hi,
i watched some live streams of great players and many of them seem to last hit with A + left click (you see a little cross a split second before the last hit, sometimes i see a white instead of a red sword -> don't know how that can happen). The reason i saw mentioned for this is that if you miss click you just attack your closest target instead of walking to the miss clicked point. However is that really the only reason, cause having to press an extra key seems like a huge extra effort (and e.g. i would have to change my whole last hit behavior). Maybe its kind of psychology that the subconscious might differentiate between last hitting (A-click) and just moving around (rightclick)?

A + left click is more responsive for some reason...or at least it seems to be.

Well, taken from Starcraft, you sort of get yourself warmed up for games by apm spamming. In a way, using a-click gives your left hand something to do, as in higher ELO games you tend to passively farm instead of exchanging skills at each other (unless you're Udyr or Ez who tend to use abilities constantly just for farming). But like, if you're playing Tryn, you really don't use your abilities very often. So to keep your hand warmed up, you use a-click.
Have you ever had one of those days where it's really cold in your house for some reason, and your fingers feel stiff? Giving them some motion to perform helps keep the blood flowing.

Thanks for the sig, MagicalBaker(Hellbreaker)!

And some people still think this isn´t a competitive game.

That and it just feels better to play with non-stiff joints. Cold fingers aren't really exciting or anything.
I'm pretty sure that if you search hard enough in the dephts of the internet, you'll find someone who finds cold fingers exciting.

It makes things easier. If you want to lasthit, you can just attack move and the closest enemy to the cursor will be automatically targeted. This is useful if the minions are clumped together/you are lazy/simply bad at precise movements as you don't have to literally move your mouse on top of the target every time (which should reduce the amount of missclicks).
If different types of enemies are within range, they will be prioritized like this: champions/wards/minions (I assume monsters, towers and the different types of minions have their own ranks as well, but can't remember exactly). You can utilize this during lane ganks to only target champions when there are tons of minions around.
Another use is when you are running around with oracles, you will automatically attack any detected wards and only move forward when it's cleaned. Or not so long ago you could put a ward 'in' baron and the only way to clean it was to use attack move to attack the nearest unit as you couldn't directly target it.
Lastly, attack move will always keep you at max range, meaning even if you missclick your target you won't accidentally run into the enemy team and get raped as the carry. If you are kiting you can also switch between normal and and attack move (which makes you turn back and autottack if targets are around) without madly moving your mouse back and forth.
Personally I don't like A+Leftclick in LoL though, you can simply use Shift+Rightclick which is much more comfortable in my opinion.
