they had kits that meshed together, not just cool spells. Ziggs and Victor, not so much.

tomáto, tomàto.

Not sure how much you have played Ziggs, but his kit works.. at least fairly well? Lay down a minefield which slows immensely, use Q/R when you're sure they're not getting out of it. Satchel can be used to knock people into it. Guess you need to not just throw every skill onto the same spot to make it work, like I see people doing a lot.

I don't know how to use this nonsensical grading system with the alphabet. So I'll just pretend you all know the grading system I'm used to.

I give RIOT a G. (ok)
They try, somehow managing to keep interest in some people but it's nothing worth applauding.

I really, really, really loved Riven. In comparison, she's one of those flukes where it just ended up awesome and you don't know why. Most other new champions are just either only fun to play once or not fun at all. Ziggs is fun because I am amused by things blowing up.

In general I feel RIOT aren't doing much of a good work on actually keeping their game interesting. Thinking Summoner's rift specifically because Dominion was a nice change of pace (some will disagree) but it's not bound by the same "rules" as SR.
Really, it's been the same feel to the game for ages now. If I play a normal game I can half expect to see the same 15 champions and the same kind of team composition, all because of that stupid dragon too. :[

I see Ziggs' as a poke champion. Similar to heimer in that you poke, then when people get close you trap people in your little nest using R (heim) or E (Ziggs) with Ziggs having a disengage move with W and a finisher with his R.

What Riot really needs to integrate is a better matchmaking that centers around players normal elo and gives options to disable masteries, runes, summoner spells, jungling, or certain character types
Something to shake things up

Hmm, Summoner's Rift does play out basically the same thing every game, with some exceptions of course. The reason why the original Dota was so interesting stemmed from how so many different strategies could be executed, whereas Summoner's Rift has the same stale meta for 100,000 patches now. There is no real point to deviate from this meta formula.

I, for one, really dislike Dominion. It's a shallow map to me, where every game boils down to capturing and holding Windmill because it is the most neutral point. Dominion just ended up being a giant disappointment for me when it was finally released. In all honesty, as we are trying to discuss new champ releases and whatnot, I think Riot trying too hard to build up hype for their announcements would certainly lead to a lot of underwhelming responses when something "new" is added to the game that does not push the wow factor.

Dominion wouldn't become boring so quickly if local of a respawn could be changed between your bases, like WoW Arathi Basin. That way you could really assign some champs to defend some points, and it wasn't only about who has more speed buffs and stuff like that.

They should also make a CTF map :D that would be fun damn it (of course Rammus and other similar abilities would drop te flag..

About the new champions.. well I think everyone generally agrees (some more extreme than others), that Riot could do a lot better job, and shouldn't be so obcessed in releasing quantity, but I kinda understand they have to pay the ridiculous prize moneys they're getting for S2, and also they want to be rich.

But I don't think the "time" is an excuse.. Their problem is between this 2:

- Lacking of creativity
- Afraid of complexety...

The last one can only be solved when they grow a pair.
But the first one... Damn it, they have THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of Champion ideas on their official forums from their community. Just spend some time reading them, fix this, fix that, and voila!

About the ammount of fun or interesting gameplay of the champions... I say again.. It's ALWAYS relative.. As long as a Champion isn't completely STUPID (Xerath lol..), there will always be persons that find every champ fun.

I read here from someone that Wukong is completely boring and has a repeated gameplay because his abilities are a remix of old ones.

It may look so on theory, but I disagree. Wukong is actually very fun, and kind of different of most bruisers to play. Some people find Sona funny (I do), others just say she's like playing piano with only 4 keys.

I think the boring problem is more about the Meta than the new champs..

And speaking of which, this is my opinion.

Volibear - Looks nice, his Q is the only thing I actually enjoy, overall I think it's a fail

Ahri - I like the looks, I think she's very funny, but she's not very hard to play, so you can get bored quick. I still think she's a good release because she feels different, and can fullfill different tastes.

Viktor - Looks ok.Fail passive, hard to master, ulti is scary and fun to look, but it's not very exciting. Only fun skill is the laser to me. Too much hype for nothing.

Sejuani - ~Looks good. It seemeed an interesting release on the previews, but revealed to be too generic. She Has jungle potential, but her W and ulti are pathetic to me. Could have done a lot better.

Ziggs - Looks and SOUNDS very fun. Skills do a lot of damage, and they're not that easy to master. And it's hard to master all his kit decenlty, despite having such an OP and easy Ult. I find it funny to play, and not anti-fun to play against. Definately a great release

Nautilus - Good looks, I personally like his kit. People compare him to Blitzcrank, but his hook works way different. Easier to hit, but without the potential of grabbing through walls. Besides, it gives the potential to new gameplay tactics with the terrain target. W has different side effect but nothing spectacular. E seems good enought. His ulti completes his utility in team fights, although I think it could use more spectacular effects :) Positive release IMO though.

TL:DR - If you don't read it, then what are you doing in this topic beside looking for others opinions?

Volibear flips tables and yells, ahri is another generic whore chick (appreciate the 9 tailed fox thing, but where have I heard of a champ that seduces men to get an advantage before...), Viktor just gives your team a small hand, Sejuani sounds way OP but sucks in practice, ziggs is a messed up meth head that depends 100% on aim, and Nautilus can't figure out how to swing without getting his anchor stuck in the ground.

I have 1300 RP now and i'm waiting for a top teir champ to buy. i wonder how long that'll take

I've certainly been underwhelmed... I was moderately excited about Ahri, and I do adore her. It's nice to see a few more Tank-like characters appear though, but like someone else said, I'm waiting for a new - good - support. If this new Fiore thing is the next real champion, I'll be somewhat disappointed.

I gave a B as I found some of them very interesting (shyvanna, Ahri, Ziggs), although I am a bit disappointed by the abscence of new supports.

Dominion

I don't like Dominion much because it's well done really, it's because the whole thing about Dominion to me boils down to picking whatever the fuck I want and then doing whatever. I don't have to give a single thought about champion strength, meta, team comp.
Everything works on Dominion and anything can be done. It's a sandbox with predetermined tools.

Basically it's a playground for me. :3

I'm kinda excited for Fiore. It's been a looooooooong time since we got a melee DPS.....not tanky DPS but melee DPS...arguably Olaf in June 2009, but he's more a tanky DPS now....

EDIT: Fiore is a chance for Riot to show that melee DPS can succeed in the meta. Most old-style melee DPS have turned into either nonviable picks or metagolem tanky DPS.

We could stand for a century, staring with our heads cocked in the broad daylight at this thing. Joy, landlocked, in bodies that don't keep dumbstruck with the sweetness of being.
