Importing .skn Maya

Hi There,

I'm trying to do some work on a model from within Maya 2012, the issue i have is that the ksin doesn't seem to be imported properly, i'm trying to import the Orianna skin but when i do i just get a jumbled mess with her and the ball completely stuck together, i'm using ThiSpawns import tool to import it, attached is an image showing what it looks like once imported, any help is appreciated :)

Is not a mess is just the ball over her normal model just select the ball and put it aside with the move object function. If you cant because its all combined then go to the top left of the screen and where it says animation in the drop down menu select polygons and then you'll see that the menu changes now you should be able to see "mesh" click on that and then click separate after you selected all the model.

Hmmm the only issue is the ball doesn't seem to then remain as one object which means i have to figure out what parts belong to it lol

How does it work with putting that all back together does the ball need to be put back exactly where it was in the first place or what?

Use the separate function as mentioned above. Then the best way to get the ball alone would be to start hiding the pieces if you accidentally hide piece not part of the ball undo and keep going once you have the ball entirely hidden then combine the rest of Orianna. Show all, hide Orianna then combine the ball. You can also use the UV map islands to select the "pieces".
