Hi,

I've been using the Akali skin (Kairi from Kingdom Hearts) and I found another nice skin (Kneesocks from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt).

I have been successfully using the Kairi skin on the default Akali skin, but when i installed Kneesocks on Stinger Akali, the Kairi skin just messed up completely.

Is that because you can't have multiple custom skins or did I do something wrong?
I used the SIU 3.333 to install both and seperately on the default and Stinger Akali skins as mentioned.

Hope someone knows the answer!

While I cannot say for sure, I do believe that LoL craps itself when you try to have multiple custom skins.

Hi,

That's what I was thinking aswell first, but it wouldn't make sense to me because the Riot skins don't mess each other up.
So I used a few hours to mess around with SIU and LoL and eventually I fixed the bug.
Needed to reinstall LoL + registry files, and clear all the skins in SIU, deleting it, then redownloading it. I also deleted the Kairi skin files and downloaded them again.
Took some messing around with the files but it worked in the end. Hope it won't bug again.

Hi,

So it bugged again, seems like it's not possible to run more than 1 custom skin on any champion. Works fine first time you use the skin but 2nd time it will mix with the other.
Guess I'll just have to change them manually through SIU :|

Stuff doesn't 'crap itself' for no reason.

Although I don't deal much with skins nowadays, a very likely explanation can be based on the way they generally work. On a very basic level skins require two things: model and texture. Chances are, recolor skins simply share the same model as the default skin, just with a new texture. If you change the shared model the default skin gets changed as well and the default texture won't fit anymore on it.

There should be a config file somewhere which associates the models with the textures, but don't ask me where it is. Alternatively there can be a naming pattern, meaning if you add a new model and name it in a specific way the engine automatically associates with the texture file, otherwise the default model gets loaded.

You also don't have to reinstall registry files, ever. The launcher rebuilds everything for you. I doubt LoL even writes anything to your registry, although I never checked. You can certainly move your files between systems without a problem, though.

Problem was, that I couldn't install LoL without removing the registry files because the installer detected that it was still installed on my laptop. But that's obviously irrelevant to the skins mixing up.

Anyway thanks for the info, got a few leads now, which I'm gonna try.

Easier to just delete the RADS/projects folder if you want the patcher to force-reinstall everything.

I believe this also means you can skip installing Pando Media Booster alltogether which is borderline crapware if you ask me.
